The address

The table by the quay

The quai de Rive Neuve runs along the south shore of the Vieux-Port, from the cours d'Estienne d'Orves to the masts of the moored boats. Le Caribou set its terrace there, on place Thiars, a few metres from the water: come for lunch and stay for a drink.

A brasserie-style room, warm banquettes and staff who know their regulars: the spirit of a true neighbourhood restaurant, at the level of the quays. From noon until the small hours, the whole city passes through — families, tables of colleagues and night owls out for the bar.

The quay

In tune with the Vieux-Port

Between the terraces of place Thiars and the traditional boats moored along the quays, the quai de Rive Neuve is one of the finest spots to take the pulse of Marseille. Le Caribou holds a prime place there, steps from the Canebière and the MuCEM.

Under the pergola, you slow down in the sun for a lunch that stretches on; in the evening, you come back for the atmosphere and the harbour lights reflecting on the water. A rare view, drink in hand.

In the kitchen

Cooking that is 100% homemade

It all starts with fresh produce worked on site, in tune with the seasons. The chef and his team sign a generous menu where homemade is not a slogan but a given.

  • Seasonal, every week

The menu shifts with the market: vegetables, fish and meat chosen as close as possible.

  • The homemade touch

Sauces, plating and à-la-minute cooking — nothing outsourced, everything on the plate.

  • Generous and made to share

Plates designed for the table, to pick at or savour facing the quay.

After the plate

A cocktail bar built to compete

When the kitchen hands over, the counter takes the lead. Signature creations, revisited classics and seasonal colours: Le Caribou's bar is one of the most alive cocktail addresses on the quai de Rive Neuve.
