A tapas bar in the heart of the Vieux-Port

Small plates set down in the middle of the table, a signature cocktail in hand and the place Thiars terrace as a backdrop: at Le Caribou, tapas are shared from aperitif time until late.

The tapas spirit

Nibble, share, make the evening last

The idea is simple: instead of one plate each, you order several small dishes and share them. At Le Caribou, the “Starters & tapas” section of the menu is built for exactly that — bold, homemade bites passed around the table as the conversation flows.

Marseille panisses, chicken karaage, Thai-style pork meatballs or sea bream ceviche: the menu travels between Provence, Asia and Latin America, and changes with the seasons. Enough to build a sharing dinner without ever ordering the same thing twice.

Tapas & cocktails

The right glass for every bite

Ranked France’s 41st best cocktail bar at the 2025 French Bar Awards, Le Caribou does not pour just anything with its tapas. A bright, tangy cocktail for the ceviche, a rounder creation for the boards: ask at the counter, the bartenders love building the pairing.

Our must-try tapas

A few plates that land on almost every table. The selection changes with the seasonal menu — the full menu is available online.

Panisses, yogurt sauce

The Marseille classic revisited: sesame, cumin, lemon and fresh herbs. Vegetarian, crispy, the perfect opener.

Chicken karaage

Chicken thighs marinated in ginger and soy, fried to order and served with a sriracha mayo that wakes up the aperitif.

Sea bream ceviche

Lime, yuzu, cucumber, cherry tomato, red onion and wild coriander shoots: the freshness of the seaside.

Crispy pork meatballs

Thai style, lifted with sriracha sauce. The kind of bite where the last one never survives.

Salmon sashimi

Thinly sliced, lifted with miso and yuzu: a light tapa that pairs beautifully with a citrus cocktail.

Egg mayo, Serrano crisps

The bistro egg mayo, twisted with pickles, mustard seeds and Serrano ham crisps.

Fresh tomato and creamy burrata salad with basil and crushed pistachios, made for sharing.

The boards

Generous boards in the middle of the table

For big tables, nothing beats a board. The cheese board brings together 18-month Comté, bleu du Queyras, picodon and Basque tomme chistera. The Italian charcuterie board lines up Finocchiona PGI, speck and truffled ham.

Round them out with a few bolder bites — prawns with baby spinach and truffle oil, foie gras marinated in port and cognac — for an aperitif that quietly turns into dinner.
